Steps of helical gear programming sample

Main parameters of helical gear
Number of teeth: 35
Thickness: 20 mm
Helix angle: 30 degrees
Pressure angle: 20 degrees

Machine: DK7750F
 
 
Step 1, enter “Program” at main interface
 
Step 2, click “Clea. SC” to clear all the drawing on the screen for later programming
 
Step 3, click “Regular curve”
 
Step 4, click “involute gear”
  
Step 5, click the each parameter item and enter the value as below picture show
 
Step 6, after click “valid confirmation”, a gear will show out
  
Step 7, Click “Take Aux’Arc” to make an auxiliary circle
 
Step 8, click “1) Center, R”, here, center is the coordinate of circle center, R is radius.
  
Step 9, input the center and radius of circle, the circle should be a little larger than out diameter of gear, the use of this circle is to locate the start point for cutting outside of gear.
 
Step 10, after circle show out; go back to main interface of grogram, then click “ Zoom in/out” (left click and drag the mouse to choose the area you need to zoom in; right click and drag the mouse to choose the area you need to zoom out), press “ESC” to exit present function if there is indicate the left bottom of screen.
 
Step 11, click the red position to choose the intersect point of circle and X axis.
 
Step 12, set new start on the gear, click “New startp” under “CIRCLE”.
  
Step 13, click the point as below show to set new start point.
 
Steps 14,after choose two points as below picture show, and continue to click “Lead In/Out line”
 
Steps 15, choose “Point method” after enter “Lead In/Out-line”
 
Step 16, click point 1, then point 2, there will be a link show out, this is the lead in line for wire cutting, the start of lead-in is always outside of drawing, and the end of lead-in should be on the drawing.
 
Step 17, “Enter”, then decide the direction of cutting, here we change the direction, so right click the mouse. You can use right click and left click mouse to change direction, attention: as the 4 axes cutting is composed by two drawings, so the cutting direction of two drawing must be same.
 
Step 18, after configure the lead in line, click “ Next 2” for further configuration.
 
Step 19, input the offset value, normally for one time cutting, and angle cutting, we suggest 0.1mm.
 
Step 20, continue to click “8 Next”.
 
Step 21, Click “(1) form 2D-lists of G-code…”
 
Step 22, Click “(4) Save File of HGT’format”
 
Step 23, input the file name “up” as the up drawing of helical gear.
 
Step 24, after save the up drawing of helical gear, go back to “program” → “Lead in/out line” to the blow interface. Then click “Del I/O-line”.
After delete the lead-in line, go back to “program” interface.
 
Step 25, Click “Draw trace’arc”.
 
Step 26, Click “Circle”, then use mouse to choose the center of circle and drag mouse to decide the radius. You can make the circle by coordinate(X,Y,R), or click and drag…, “Esc”
 
Step 27, go back to main interface of “Program”, then click “Full”.
 
Step 28, click “Change block”.
 
Step 29, Click “take block”.
 
Step 30, drag mouse to choose the whole gear drawing as below show(include small green circle).
 
Step 31, Click “rotate block”.
 
Step 32, input rotate time: 1
 
Step 33, enter the rotate 18.1°(it also could be -18.1°, the difference is the direction of helical angle), how 18.1° come out, I will explain in another file.
 
Step 34, input the center of rotate: (0, 0), it could be some point else in other drawing.
 
Step 35, Click “remove block” to remove the original gear, and left the rotated gear.
 
Step 36, drag mouse to choose and zoom in the area show in below.
  
Step 37, Click “Lead In/Out-line”
 
Step 38, Click “Point method”
 
Step 39, Set the lead line by the way above, the start cutting direction must be same as the first drawing “UP”. After set the lead in line, go back the “Program” interface.
 
Step 40, Click “De. Trace”
 
Step 41, to delete the green small circle trace, after click “ De. Trace”, use mouse to click the circle as below show.
 
Step 42, Click “Next 2”
 
Step 43, input offset value 0.10mm
Step 44, click “8 Next”
Step 45, click “(1) form 2D-lists of G-code”
Step 46, click “(4) save file of HGT’ format
Step 47, input name “down” for the down drawing.
 
Step 48, go back to main interface, and click “4 axes”
 
Step 49, set the parameters of 4 axes cutting,
Click “(1) name of top-graph”, and input “up”.
Click “(2) name of down-graph”, and input “down”.
Click “thickness of work piece”, and input “20”, it could be different according to your needs.
 
Step 50, after set parameters, click “display 3D” to check in 3D.
 
Step 51, click “Disp1” or “Disp2” to change the view.
 
Step 52, save the program list. It needs to give a name for this 3D program.we give name “H-GEAR” here.
 
Step 53, go back to main interface, and carry on entering “Process”.
 
Step 54, Click “READ” to read program file.
 
Step 55, find the saved file “H-GEAR.5NC”, the 4 axes program is 5NC format.
 
Choose the file and wait controller to load program, it may take some time, please wait.
 
Step 56, after program is loaded, it will show as below.
 
Until here, you can start machine to cut,
 
You can also do check to see the path of wire:
Step 57, check “ChEC”
 
Step 58, click “Imitate” the, keep on pressing “Enter” on keyboard until it start to imitate the cutting.
